Exocet Link

The Delta Quick Review: While it's not the sexiest category, the big boards that people use to learn to windsurf on have been changing quite a bit over the last few years. There's still a place for the huge wide boards that get you going on your first days on the water, but once you can cruise a little these really wide boards are quickly outgrown. So with today's entry-level boards, brands are trying to add value by giving their boards a larger range of uses.

In the case of the Link you've got the 10" and 11'8" that are part of Exocet's WindSUP line, but in this case have an EVA foam deck. These boards are basically SUP's. They have incredible efficiency when paddled, but with a daggerboard and mast-base insert added you can also tap into their efficiency as a windsurfer. The unique duck tails on these boards also make them plane better than traditional tailed SUP's

In the Medium and Large Link's you've got more traditional shapes that will plane more readily but sacrifice a bit of light-air efficiency.

We're big fans of people looking at SUP shapes as their entry-level, or light-air boards and from this line it's the 10'0" and 11'8" that would be of most interest.
