Starboard Kode Freewave 2017
2017 Kode FreeWave
The Delta Quick Review: Every brand puts a lot of focus into their Freestyle Wave, yet while all these boards are all meant for similar riders it seems every brand comes at their design in different ways. Quatro comes at it by making faster wave boards. Exocet feels that what most people want is simply really to use board that's fun to sail. Patrik makes their freestyle wave for all out performance, but if your ability does match what the board's capable of you'll never know it. In the Kode what you've got is balance. Balance in what's good about all the other freestyle waves on the market. The Kode has impressive speed and quick planing, but not at to the point that it sacrifices control and ease of use. With thruster fins the rail holds in a gybe or on a swell, but there's still a playfulness that lets you change the arc mid-turn or see if you can make the next one even tighter. The Kode truly is the all-around shape you'd expect of a Freestyle Wave.
The fast and versatile board for a broad range of conditions: flat water, chop and waves
Accelerating Vee combined with a double concave bottom provides responsiveness with added grip and reactivity, added control and comfort, without compromising speed.
Thin rails are softer in the nose for a smooth entry in jibes and sharper in the mid and back sections to enhance grip, control and drive in the turns.
Everything is built around a fast rocker with a low nose angle to reduce drag, maximize control and top speed.
A flat section between the mast track and front footstrap promotes early planing. Just the right amount of tail kick makes for responsive wave riding.
Single or thruster.
Comes with 2 x Starbox and one US box, as well as plugs to suit your fin set up.
The new Starbox allows you to fit Slot Box fins in five seconds each, and remembers your last setting to get you on the water faster. It is also compatible with US box fins.
Narrow nose on the bigger models helps to initiate the turns and reduce drag. Moderately wide outline provides stability and buoyancy in sub-planing conditions.
Volume in the tail helps to keep speed out of jibes and turns.
